Analyst/Associate

Analyst and Associate positions are an opportunity for professionals interested in investing. These individuals take an active role in researching and evaluating new investment opportunities, working with existing portfolio companies, and supporting our analytical processes. Total experience required is three years or less, ideally with a focus on the financial services sector, within investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, or equity research.

Castle Creek is seeking to partner with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (“DEI”) committees from universities across the country to recruit 1-3 paid summer internship positions (predicated on the pool of applicants and fit within our organization). Through its summer internship program over the past three years, Castle Creek has encouraged and promoted diversity within its team and industry. The summer program will provide candidates with exposure to the following areas:

  • Sourcing, analyzing and underwriting existing and potential bank investments across various levels of the capital structure
  • Monitoring and evaluating current and potential investments
  • Helping to drive the investment diligence process from sourcing to closing including individual investments and larger portfolios
  • Developing operating and investment models including underwriting and IRR analyses
  • Forecasting financial performance and identifying underperformance at portfolio banks
  • Analyzing and preparing operating/investment committee memos and presentations
  • Providing information and fostering relationships with leading institutional investors (public pensions, university endowments, and family offices) across the country
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (GPA of 3.3+)
  • 0-3 years of business-related experience (e.g., investments, valuation, consulting, research, banking)
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and functions (VBA / macros a plus)
  • Strong PowerPoint proficiency and experience working on client deliverables
  • Exceptionally high attention to detail when managing and analyzing large data sets
  • Ability to work as part of a growing team to constantly implement and improve process and financial modeling
  • High self-motivation with ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines and seek additional leadership roles
  • Excellent written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude, energy and overall enthusiasm for banking, private assets, and financial analytics
